What is this place?
Cactus Dreams is my hobby turned nursery business. The nursery propagates (and is now selling!) various species and hybrids of the genus Trichocereus. All are rooted specimens grown from seed by me (no cuttings) that belong primarily to the spectrum of South American species related to T. pachanoi, T. peruvianus or T. bridgesii. I specialize in monstrose and crested hybrids, but I have more than 100 hybrids and cultivars at various growth stages and many more are coming More information coming soon!
Cactus Dreams is recently licensed by CDFA to sell nursery stock. In 2024, I will sell seedling plants primarily in the 2-5 yrs range directly to the public at various venues in the San Francisco Bay Area, including local farmers markets in the East Bay and San Francisco and some local nurseries. Many smaller or larger specimens are available on request, including many that are too large or ornery to bring to markets. [I apologize for the crude website! It is a work in progress.]
Quality matters to me. I record the provenance of seeds that I germinate and faithfully label products that I sell. However, I cannot personally vouch for the accuracy of information provided by others and Trichocereus naming is the subject of significant confusion and argument. This is not for me to sort out. I use reputable sources for my seeds and to the best of my knowledge the information I provide is accurate. Many of the hybrids will be familiar to trichocereus enthusiasts. Some of my favorites plants are from Cactus Dreams own hybrids. I grow what I sell and I am proud to offer a huge variety of plants that are beautiful and healthy.
